Overview of VASE technology, sample preparation, and example applications
Next week scientists from Entech Instruments will be on Campus to install an auxiliary unit for the GC/MS. The Vacuum Assisted Sorbent Extraction (VASE) system combined with thermal Sorbent Pens allows the analysis of a wide variety of volatile and semi-volatile compounds from water, soil, and solids. The system is similar in concept to Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) with several added advantages. Please, find brochures attached.
This system will be available for a period of one year. If anyone is interested in using the system or have questions, there will be a seminar with a system overview:
Dr. Mike Cloeter, senior research scientist from Dow Chemical Company, will give a presentation in CHME 496/896-002 on Sept 27 from 2-2.30 pm in 110 Othmer.
