Shaobin Li earns student leadership award in the LCA XVIII conference

Shaobin Li, a civil engineering Ph.D. student focused on environmental engineering, earned the inaugural Student Life Cycle Assessment Leadership Award from the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment. The award was presented at the 18th annual ACLCA conference in Fort Collins, Colorado.

New faculty publications and accomplishments

Dr. Xu Li is the co-author of "Detection, Occurrence and Fate of Emerging Contaminants in Agricultural Environments", published in 'Water Environment Research'.

Dr. Yong-Rak Kim is the co-author of "Evaluation of long-term effects of rejuvenation on reclaimed binder properties based on chemical-rheological tests and analyses", published in 'Materials and Structures'.

Dr. Richard Wood is the co-author of "An application of finite element model updating for damage assessment of a two-story reinforced concrete building and comparison with lidar", published in 'Structural Health Monitoring'.

Dr. Yong-Rak Kim is the co-author of "Molecular dynamics modeling and simulation of bituminous binder chemical aging due to variation of oxidation level and saturate-aromatic-resin-asphaltene fraction", published in 'Fuel'.

Dr. Aemal Khattak is the co-author of "Train-Level and Car-Level Modeling of Hazardous Materials Release in Railroad Incidents", published in 'Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board'.

Drs. Shannon Bartelt-Hunt and Yusong Li are co-authors of "Development of Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships for Nanoparticle Titanium Dioxide Aggregation in the Presence of Organic Contaminants", published in 'Environmental Engineering Science'.

Dr. Bruce Dvorak is Primary Investigator (PI) on the project "Enhancing Sustainability of Nebraska's Food Processors through Process Assessments" from the Environmental Protection Agency.

Drs. Chungwook Sim (PI), Ronald Faller, Daniel Linzell, Laurence Rilett, Chung Song, Christine Wittich, Richard Wood, and Jinying Zhu (Co-Pis) have earned funding on a project titled "Spokes: MEDIUM: MIDWEST: Smart Big Data Pipeline for Aging Rural Bridge Transportation Infrastructure (SMARTI)" from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
