Husker Harvest Days provides the perfect opportunity for 4-H members to reconnect after the summer. This year, 4-H members and leaders will receive free admission to the show by participating in the America’s Farmers Food Drive at Husker Harvest Days, Sept. 9-11 in Grand Island.
To receive free entry, 4-H'ers should bring 5 or more cans on non-perishable food items to Gate 2 or Gate 7 of Husker Harvest Days. The three 4-H clubs that donate the highest poundage of food will each be awarded a $250 donation from Monsanto. Clubs must donate a minimum of 100 pounds of food to be eligible for the donation.
All food collected will benefit local food pantries, and Monsanto will match every pound of food collected with a $1 donation, up to $10,000, to the Heartland United Way. Additionally, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation will match every pound of food collected with a $1 donation, up to $10,000, to Feeding America.
