Market Beef Weigh-Ins

4-H/FFA Beef Weigh-In at a previous Lancaster County Super Fair4-H and FFA exhibitors showing market steers or heifers must identify and weigh-in their projects at one of the following weigh-ins:
• Saturday, Jan. 2, 10 a.m.–Noon, at Johnson Cattle, 12303 W. Mill Road, Malcolm

4th & 5th Grade Lock-In, Jan. 15-16

The overnight Lock-In includes fun projects, games, snacks, movies and a sleep over!All 4th and 5th graders are invited to 4-H Teen Council’s annual overnight Lock-In, which will be held Friday, Jan. 15, 8 p.m.–Saturday, Jan. 16, 8 a.m. This year’s theme is “Spring into Summer, Fall into Winter.” Cost $15/person. Registrations due by Jan. 13.

Dog Skill-A-Thon, Jan. 26

At the Dog Skill-a-Thon, test your knowledge in breed identification, parasites, grooming tools and conformation.This year’s dog skill-a-thon will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Lancaster County Extension office, 444 Cherrycreek Rd. Open to all 4-H’ers ages 8-18 — need not be in the dog project. Come anytime from 2:30-6 p.m. — plan around two hours to complete the activities. Continue reading…

 

Crocheting Workshop, Feb. 6

4-H youth can learn the single crochet stitch at the “Basic Crocheting” workshop.4-H youth ages 10 and up are invited to learn how to crochet a washcloth utilizing the single crochet stitch at the “Basic Crocheting” workshop on Saturday, Feb. 6, 9 a.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road. UNL Scholarship Deadline Jan. 15

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers scholarships that focus on leadership, service to community and diversity enhancement. To qualify for one of these scholarships, you will need to submit a personal statement. Deadline for freshmen is Jan. 15.
