BSE faculty members Ron Yoder, Peter McCornick, Christopher Neale, Derrel Martin, Daran Rudnick and Roberto Lenton are in Buenos Aires this week to participate in a workshop with the Government of Argentina on “High Productivity Agricultural Production with Center Pivot Irrigation.”

The workshop will be held Sept. 6-7 at the Ministry of Agroindustry and include 60 participants from Argentina and 10 from Nebraska.

Participants will develop plans and policies to sustainably increase Argentina’s high-productivity irrigated agriculture. They will also share knowledge on topics for collaborative research and extension, including developing workplans.

The workshop is expected to result in policy recommendations and concept notes for each topic. It is also expected to shape a vision for irrigation and water-for-food, helping to set high productivity and sustainable irrigated agriculture as a national priority in Argentina.
