On Friday, March 6, Theresa McKinney will present "An Introduction to MAXQDA for Data Integration in Mixed-Method Studies" from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in 112 TEAC.

A recurring challenge for mixed-method researchers is the effective integration (or mixing) of qualitative and quantitative data in their studies. Too often, researchers approach data integration by conducting independent analyses of their qualitative and quantitative databases and integrating the two only when preparing reports of their findings. This presentation presents ways in which MAXQDA software can be used for effective data integration at earlier stages of mixed-method studies.

Participants will be introduced to: 1) MAXQDA’s user interface and basic functions; 2) approaches to prepare for uploading and organizing data in MAXQDA that can enhance analyses and 3) examples drawn from mixed-method studies that illustrate how MAXQDA can facilitate data integration. Participants will receive trial versions of the software.
