Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites K–12 educators to "Artful Teaching," an evening of hands-on art activities and casual networking, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 18. Teachers will have a chance to explore cross-disciplinary connections of the Nebraska fine art standards through writing, observation and art-making activities.

Twyla Hansen, Nebraska State Poet; Kim Matthews, researcher and educator from UNL's Minority Health Disparities Initiative; and artist Byron Anway will present professional development workshops that connect the museum’s collection with K–12 curriculum for art, language arts, and social studies.

"Artful Teaching" is free and open to Lincoln Public Schools, parochial, private and home school educators. Registration is available online at http://go.unl.edu/artful-teaching.
