"Tools for Education" - Center for People in Need

The Center for People In Need's annual Tools for Education event is scheduled for July 27th and 29th. This event helps families in the community provide school supplies for their students as they get ready for the upcoming school year. We expect to have roughly 4,000 children to come through for this event.

For many families, this is a time of year when limited resources are stretched even further. The Center for People in Need strives to meet students’ needs by providing backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

To make this event successful, volunteers are needed on Saturday, July 27th and Monday, July 29th.

We will need volunteers to help with event set up, restocking tables, or helping families throughout the building.

Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

Saturday, July 27th:
8:30AM – 11:15AM
11:00AM – 2:00PM
2:00PM – 5:00PM

Monday, July 29th:
12:15PM – 2:30PM
2:30PM – 5:30PM
5:15PM – 7:30PM

We appreciate your time and help for this event. If you cannot come and still want to support the children, you may donate cash or merchandise to help fill the backpacks. We need pencils, pens, notebooks, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, pocket folders, markers, scissors, highlighters etc.

We are also looking for food donations such as baked goods or lunch items for the volunteers. Please share this information with family and friends.
