Please take our survey on Assessment in Education course

This summer, as part of the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes, we will have an Introduction to Educational Assessment course (EdPs 892). We are interested in your opinions about what teachers need to know about assessment. To let us know what you think, please complete this brief survey: https://unlcba.az1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0uZT4iqMR9GetuZ
We will use survey responses to help shape the emphasis of topics in the course.

The course will be co-taught by Dr. Tony Albano, Educational Statistics, and Dr. Wendy Smith, Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education.

This is a course in the theory and application of educational assessment. Main topics include test design, item writing, reliability, validity, and statistical analysis of test data, with an emphasis on practical applications of assessment in the classroom. An understanding of these topics can help teachers more effectively use assessment information to improve teaching and learning via “data-based decision-making.” The course is offered in a blended format, with in-person meetings all day on June 1, 2, and 29, and the remainder of the course occurring online, via the Blackboard system.
