Communications & Media Assistant, Nebraska CYFS

General Description: Nebraska Center for Research Child, Youth, Families & Schools is seeking a professional individual to support the communications/media needs of CYFS, a research center at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The communications staff will provide initial training and support as the selected individual transitions to the collaborative team and assumes increased responsibilities across a range of diverse tasks. With the appropriate skills, an advanced student may be considered. There is a strong possibility that this position may lead to full-time employment or an extended appointment with CYFS in the future.
Start Date: Immediate; 15 - 20 hours/week
Wage: $12/hour
Primary Responsibilities:
a. Design print and digital communications for a large, vibrant interdisciplinary research center (e.g., posters, flyers, handouts, brochures, mailers, newsletters)
b. Update and maintain CYFS-related websites

Skills:
Required
• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience designing layouts for print materials
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Preferred
• Familiarity with Dreamweaver / HTML / CSS
• Experience shooting and editing video
