Growing A Healthy Future at Joint NCEA and UNL Extension Fall Conference

Copies of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ spring 2013 Growing A Healthy Future will be at the joint NCEA and UNL Extension fall conference. They are for personnel from each county office to take home and share with constituents and potential new readers. The twice-yearly magazine shows and describes the value and importance of IANR’s land-grant mission to benefit Nebraskans and Nebraska.

Stories in this issue include Nebraska Innovation Campus and its first private business, ConAgra Foods; the pioneering work of feeding ethanol byproducts to cattle; switchgrass as a potential biofuel; water conservation at North Platte and Brule; High Plains diverse research; the 30th anniversary of the Food Processing Center; green rooftops; the Rural Futures Institute; and more.

The magazine helps tell the story of IANR’s work in food, fuel, water, landscapes and people. As you leave next week’s conference stop by the resources table and take a stack or two, and feel free to submit ideas for future stories.
