State Fair Update

A big thanks to each of you for all of your work in helping the Nebraska State Fair be a success! We are proud to report to you that there are over 9,400 exhibits in the 4-H Building. These exhibits include: Citizenship and Civic Education, Communications and Expressive Arts, Consumer and Family Science, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Healthy Lifestyles Education, Personal Development and Leadership, Plants and Animals and Science and Technology. In addition, there are daily hands-on activities for young people around the curriculum areas, the mobile beef lab is on display, and several stakeholder events are scheduled. When you add judging contests, presentation contests, the dog show, the companion animal show, fashion shows, and the livestock exhibits, there will be over 13,000 4-H exhibits at this year's Nebraska State Fair.

We also want to acknowledge the Nebraska 4-H Foundation for their support of the fair. They are responsible for 4-H awards and have helped in making the 4-H presence strong throughout the fairgrounds. We invite you to the 4-H Alumni Reunion next Saturday at 3:00 pm.

In case you haven't downloaded it yet, there is a new Nebraska 4-H State Fair iPad app where you can check out results, review the State Fair schedule, or see pictures of the fair! You can get it from the iTunes store by searching for Nebraska 4-H State Fair.

You have done an amazing job preparing for the fair, overseeing judging activities, recruiting hundreds of volunteers, supervising events and promoting Nebraska 4-H. It is impressive work and we appreciate all of the time you give. We know that you go above and beyond in making the State Fair experience be a great one for young people and their families. Thank you for all you do.
