Campus Rec’s 3-step weight management program, Well on Your Weigh!, begins Jan 20. Well on Your Weigh is a comprehensive weight-loss program, divided into three 4-week sessions. Participants can join the program at the stage they fell the best accommodates their needs/level. All participants receive ongoing support by a team of certified professional to include: health coaches, exercise specialists and registered dietitians.
Each 4-week session includes:
• 12 group exercise sessions (3 per week)
• Weekly Friday education session (includes online access)
• Training to build meal plans
• Nutrition consultations
• Personalized attention to meet goals
• Opportunity to meet others on campus with similar goals
The full program is divided into three 4-week sections:
Get Started! (Jan. 20- Feb. 13)
$79 plus CREC membership
Ideal for anyone who wants to start the New Year well and learn the right tools to lose weight. Workouts will focus on functional and core training, including one workout per week in the privacy of Mabel Lee Hall Pool. Nutrition sessions will focus on getting one’s home and work areas set up for success and developing individualized meal plans. This session focuses on developing a healthy lifestyle pattern to build upon. Activities include an interactive grocery tour, tips for eating healthy at work and choosing food for a better mood. All participants will receive an Omron pedometer and online tracking site.
Step it up! (Feb. 17- Mar.13)
$69 plus CREC membership
This advanced session takes one’s weight loss to the next level by teaching how to cook and eat for successful weight loss. Participants will learn key words to look for when making good choices at restaurants. Some topics include: Breakfast brain power, virtual restaurant tours, cooking demo, super foods to help boost energy levels and the power of mediation for improving health. Fitness workouts will introduce new, more complex ways to exercise.
Take Charge! (Mar. 31- Apr. 24)
$69 plus CREC membership
This session supports participants in staying on track with healthy eating, activities and life goals in a fun and positive atmosphere. Take Charge! prepares participants for the summer months.
A free Friday educational session is offered Jan. 16 noon–1 p.m. at CREC, Room 230. The full twelve weeks of Friday noon sessions (Fresh Perspective Fridays) are also offered as a stand-alone program for $50 for UNL students, Campus Rec members or General Public.
