Inspire Kindness on 'Pay It Forward Day', April 26

Pay It Forward Day
Pay It Forward Day

A class at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications wants to create more kindness on campus. Inspired by the positive impact of Hate Will Never Win, students in Assistant Professor Valerie Jones’s media strategy class created activities around International Pay It Forward Day on April 26 to celebrate acts of kindness and challenge the community to pay it forward. The centerpiece of the celebration will be an event from 10-3 on April 26 at the Union Plaza. Huskers will be invited to create notes for kindness mural, share messages of kindness in person or on social media, and take the Pay It Forward Challenge. Students in the class will also pay it forward themselves by giving pedicab rides around campus to fellow Huskers. The only requirement of riders? A promise to pay it forward.

So what can you do? Participate! Swing over to the Union plaza anytime from 10-3pm on Apr. 26 and check out our booth, or snag a ride around campus on one of the pedicabs. Take pictures and share content on social media, or share your own #NEkind story! And finally, pay it forward and make someone’s day!
