Lincoln area Primarily Math teachers: Keep on learning!

MATH 803P
MATH 803P

The results are coming in and Primarily Math is making a difference for teachers and for students, just see the other articles for evidence!

As teacher-leaders, you may want to take another course to further strengthen your mathematical knowledge and your teaching knowledge. You might even want to pursue a master's degree.

The Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes has several courses that are great for Primarily Math teachers and their colleagues as each course is independent of the Primarily Math coursework and is thus accessible to all elementary teachers. Here are our suggestions (see separate articles for descriptions):
- Math 803P
- Math 804P
- TEAC 801
- TEAC 890

While we can't offer these courses at no cost to teachers (as was the case for Primarily Math coursework), the cost of further graduate coursework is greatly reduced because:
* All Nebraska teachers qualify for a 20% tuition discount; and
* A significant number of $300 supplemental fellowships are still available.

Need more convincing? Here are some comments from teachers who have taken these courses.

"I really learned a lot. I wish someone could have explained algebra in this way when I first took it." Math 803P

"The content presented during class was excellent. The content related to the curriculum I teach. The activities we participated in were helpful in solidifying the concepts." Math 803P

"I am leaving with fantastic resources. I have an understanding of the math and how to implement problem solving.” Math 804P

"This course expanded my confidence and challenged me to challenge my students at a deeper level." Math 804P
