First Primarily Math course offered in Beatrice

MATH 800P
MATH 800P

Have you been wishing your colleagues could participate in Primarily Math? Now they can! The first course in the Primarily Math program (Math 800P) is being offered in Beatrice at ESU 5, June 2-6. Help us spread the word!

Math 800P (Class Number 8603) will be held June 2-6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ESU 5, 900 W Court St in Beatrice. The audience is grades K-3 teachers.

This course will strengthen teachers’ conceptual knowledge of number and operation in the K-3 mathematics curriculum. The course connects the intuitive mathematical understandings that children bring to school and links them to an understanding of place value in the K-3 curriculum. The significance of base 10 in our place value system, along with its role in arithmetic operations and their properties is a major emphasis of the course. Primarily Math courses have proven to make a positive impact on the mathematical knowledge of teachers and on student learning.

The instructor will be Jason Vitosh, Noyce Master Teacher, of Falls City Public Schools.
