Congratulations go out to SNR’s Dennis Ferraro for receiving the Nebraska Urban Pest Management Conference Recognition Award. Ferraro, an extension educator and herpetologist in the School of Natural Resources, received the award on Feb. 13 in appreciation for his professional dedication, support, and insights shared at the recent Nebraska Urban Pest Management Conference held in Lincoln.

SNR also congratulates Professor Patricia Freeman and teaching assistant Shannon Moncure for receiving the Holling Family Award for Teaching Excellence on Feb. 8.

Freeman received the Senior Faculty Holling Family Award for Teaching Excellence, which recognizes innovative teaching projects, impacts of the projects on audiences and colleagues, outcomes of the project, and peer evaluations.

Moncure’s Teaching Assistant Holling Family Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes imaginative and innovative instructional practices, enthusiasm and commitment to teaching, progress towards a degree, and letters of support from advisers and students.
