SNR researchers Amy Burgin, Terry Loecke and Steve Thomas led a project that measured river nitrogen loading. This project was highlighted in a feature story in the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

The project focuses on the effect of the 2012 drought on nitrogen loading to Midwestern streams and rivers. It is a collaboration between UNL scientists, University of Iowa researcher Dr. Adam Ward (Geosciences) and Coe College researcher Dr. Martin St. Clair (Chemistry).
