The UNL Research Council is soliciting nominations for faculty to present a Nebraska Lecture in 2015 and 2016. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. March 2.
The Nebraska Lectures: Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series features high-profile presentations by distinguished UNL faculty. Lectures are designed for general audiences to provide insights about some of the university’s leading research, scholarship and creative activities. They represent the highest recognition the Research Council bestows on an individual faculty member.
Faculty and staff are invited to identify and nominate candidates. Selection criteria are: major recent accomplishment(s) that support a distinguished record and the ability to communicate to an interdisciplinary audience. Nominees should be nationally or internationally prominent in their fields.
To nominate a faculty member, email a nomination letter and the nominee’s curriculum vitae, including significant scholarly accomplishments with emphasis on the last five years, to Mari Greer in the Office of Research and Economic Development at mgreer1@unl.edu. Additional information is available on the Research Council website.
Nominations are kept confidential. The Research Council and the vice chancellor for research and economic development will select the lecturers. Chosen lecturers will be notified immediately after selection.
