Katie Pekarek, assistant Extension educator, won the 2014 Innovative Extension New Employee Award.
Pekarek was presented with the award at the annual Extension Fall Conference, which took place Nov. 11-14.
The award recognizes Extension workers in their first five years of service who have exhibited an innovative program that reaches a new audience in new ways. Special emphasis is given to a new employee who strives to reach new audiences with new programming and new technology.
"I am humbled that I was nominated and selected from a great group of peers to receive this award," Pekarek said. "It highlights a focus on hiring good people and giving them the resources they need to succeed."
