UNL's Stormwater Management Education Team will receive a Community Landscape Award for projects that have significantly improved the green infrastructure of communities throughout the state. They will be presented with the award on Feb. 26.

Team members include Kelly Feehan, extension educator; David Shelton, professor, biological systems engineering and Extension agricultural engineer; Steve Rodie, associate professor, agronomy and horticulture; Bobbi Holm of Omaha, assistant Extension educator; Katie Pekarek, assistant Extension educator; and Tom Franti, associate professor, biological systems engineering and Extension surface water management engineer.

Their efforts went beyond beautification to implement sustainable water conservation, stormwater management, land stewardship, tree-canopy restoration, habitat and biodiversity and served as outreach and model demonstrations for beneficial design and practices.

"The team is extremely pleased to be recognized by NSA for our programming accomplishments over the past few years," Pekarek said.
