o The search for the next University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor continued, with additional candidate interviews.
The Lincoln Journal Star quoted Pat Shea, a longtime faculty member in the UNL School of Natural Resources, March 1, in “Chancellor finalist stresses leadership role of flagship campus”.

o The report “Understanding and Assessing Climate Change: Implications for Nebraska,” by researchers at UNL’s School of Natural Resources, is sited in The Hastings Tribune.

A second report on climate change in Nebraska by Don Wilhite, SNR professor of applied climate science, and Kim Morrow, a Nebraska Extension educator and climate change resource specialist in Lincoln, also is utilized for the March 8 article, “UNL reaching out to producers on climate, weather concerns.”

o National Drought Mitigation Center climatologists continued to help assess whether recent rains are putting a dent in California’s drought.
Reuters quoted Brian Fuchs on March 24 in “Severity of California’s drought eases with help from El Nino rains”.

o Wilhite and Morrow’s report also is highlighted in The Grand Island Independent on March 25: “Report examines how changing Arctic weather impacts the Midwest.” The same article featured a photograph by SNR’s Ken Dewey, applied climate science mission area leader.
