Back-to-campus time will again see thousands of students moving in to their residence halls in the span of a few days prior to the start of fall semester classes on Aug. 20.
Most students will be moving in to their residence halls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 17. Students residing in The Village (16th and X streets) and The Courtyards (17th and Vine streets) began move-in on Aug. 13.
Faculty, staff, visitors and Lincoln residents should be aware of minor traffic delays in the City Campus vicinity because of lane closings and some congestion from move-in traffic.
Motorists traveling through campus will find closed driving lanes on 16th, 17th and Vine streets. Students and parents should plan for delays because parking near many residence halls is limited.
Construction in the areas of 17th, 18th and 19th streets will cause more congestion than normal around those areas. Students and parents have been advised to use drop-off, move-in parking for one hour only near their assigned residence halls, and to visit the UNL Housing move-in website, http://housing.unl.edu/movein, for the latest information on assigned parking for each residence hall. The special move-in zones are limited to one-hour parking; after that, vehicles are required to move to other parking locations.
