'Wellness on Wheels' event is today

Campus Recreation, the University Health Center and Employee Assistance Program will offer health assessments from 7 to 9 a.m. today in the Campus Rec Atrium. The assessment includes health screenings, flu shots and wellness blood profiles.

All participants will receive a free pedometer. Participants who bring a canned food item will receive a free "Be Well at UNL" wristband.

The free assessments offered include: flexibility/balance; nutrition; blood pressure; and height/weight/body mass index.

Flu shots are free for students and $30 for faculty, staff and Campus Rec members.

The wellness blood profiles measure hemoglobin for anemia, glucose for diabetes, total cholesterol, HDL/LDL cholesterol levels, and triglycerides. Blood profiles are $20 for students and $25 for faculty, staff and Campus Rec members.

Payments can be made by cash or check. Participants are also asked to bring insurance cards to have procedure costs submitted for coverage.
