Student-led operetta 'Candide' opens Feb. 21

A collaboration within the College of Fine and Performing Arts is bringing an adaptation of Leonard Bernstein's 1956 operetta "Candide" to stage. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, 22 and 23, and 3 p.m. Feb. 24. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for students and senior citizens. Continue reading…

 

CYFS-authored article named best of 2012

Susan Sheridan, director of the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools, served as lead author of a research paper recently recognized as the best of 2012 by School Psychology Review.A peer-reviewed article authored by researchers from UNL’s Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools has been named 2012 Article of the Year by School Psychology Review, an academic journal published by the National Association of School Psychologists. Detlefsen named an art educator of the year

Jean DetlefsenJean Detlefsen, a lecturer in Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, has been named the 2013 Western Region Higher Education Art Educator of the Year. Brazil depth-report presentation postponed to Feb. 27

The work of 10 photojournalists who spent UNL's winter break on a depth-report trip to Sao Paolo, Brazil, will be featured in a multimedia presentation at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Bourbon Theatre. The presentation was scheduled for Feb. 21 but was postponed due to an expected snowstorm. Continue reading…

Botti to perform at Lied on Feb. 21

Chris BottiJazz and pop trumpeter Chris Botti performs at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Ticket prices start at $36 for adults and $18 for youth. An ongoing association with PBS has led Botti to four No. 1 jazz albums, multiple gold and platinum records, and Grammy awards.
