Energy-saving checklist for offices during shutdown

When leaving your office for the holiday shutdown, turn off all lights, computers, monitors, printers, copiers and other office equipment and appliances. Check that windows are locked and close window blinds or drapes.

If you have a manual thermostat (not one with an LCD display), set it at 60-65 degrees. Thermostats with LCD display do not need to be adjusted.

Temperature control in many UNL office and classroom buildings will be reduced over the holiday shutdown, beginning Friday evening, Dec. 23. This only affects buildings or parts of buildings that are normally curtailed on nights and weekends. Temperature and other controls in labs and other exempt spaces will not be changed.
