We are looking for 4-H; Food, Nutrition, and Health; SNAP-Ed; and EFNEP professionals that would be interested in participating in the 2019-2020 4-H Healthy Habits Grant sponsored by the Walmart Foundation. This grant program is part of Issue Team #2 and is focused on improving healthy food choices balanced by physical activity. The grant requires 6 hours of direct nutrition education programming with youth, grades 2-12. Teen leadership and collaboration with others in your office are encouraged, as we need to reach 2,000 youth and recruit 50 teen ambassadors by July 31, 2020.
Please consider filling out 1 survey per contact at https://forms.gle/3jaHCn11GxaLDroSA by Friday, September 20th at 5pm. Thank you for your willingness to be considered for our grant. We will send you an email by September 27th if your site is selected to participate in this grant.
If selected for this grant, sites may receive up to $250 for teaching supplies as well as up to $6 per youth for food supplies to be used in food prep during class. We will provide pre- and post-evaluations for your site. Mileage and ingredients for take-home grocery bags are not included in this grant. Selected sites will be expected to attend the initial Zoom meeting on Friday, October 4th from 11am-12pm (Central Time).
