Proposals & Registration for 2020 4-H National Youth Summit on Agri-Science - Deadline October 17

The National Youth Summit on Agri-Science planning committee would like to encourage Extension 4-H and agriculture professionals to take part in this national opportunity to provide learning experiences for high school youth across the nation. Presenters are also encouraged to utilize teens as teachers and co-teach with our Nebraska youth.

The committee is currently accepting proposals for sessions to be presented at this national conference. The Summit will be held January 9-12, 2020 at National 4-H Conference Center in Washington, D.C. The Summit is open to youth in grades 9-12. The committee is seeking proposals that provide a 50-minute hands-on learning experience related to any agri-science topic. A limited number of selected proposals will receive scholarship funding to cover conference registration (not travel) for 1 adult and 2 youth. Whether or not you intend to present, the National Youth Summit on Agri-Science is great opportunity for high school youth to gain a better understanding about agri-science and meet others across the nation with the same interest. Youth are encouraged to participate as a team (as few as two and as many as 10) with at least one adult.

At the National Youth Summit on Agri-Science, the teams of high school students develop the skills and knowledge needed to develop community action plans that focus on the challenges facing agriculture, food security, and sustainability. National 4 H Council and National 4 H Conference Center have partnered with agricultural scientists, researchers, leaders, politicians, and advocates to host the National Youth Summit on Agri-Science. This Summit emphasizes hands-on educational experiences led by experts in the agricultural community.

The National Youth Summit on Agri-Science will take place January 9 – 12, 2020. Buffet-style meals are served at the Clover Dining Room at National 4 H Conference Center.
