The majority of families with students going to college fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) because it’s the best way to get help paying for college. It helps determine financial aid eligibility and it is a requirement in order to be considered for many scholarships, grants and various tuition assistance programs at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. If you are a senior in high school, now is the time to complete and submit your FAFSA. April 1 is the priority deadline to submit your FAFSA to ensure you are considered for all available aid. • Create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID at http://www.studentaid.gov
• Complete and submit the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.gov
• List Nebraska’s federal school code 002565 on FAFSA application and your information will be sent directly to the university.
• Once your FAFSA is submitted watch your email for a link to your Stud ent Aid Report (SAR).
