Erica Larsen-Dockray was born and raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and is the Founding Director of the Calibraska Arts Initiative. This initiative aims to connect youth and adults from Nebraska with west coast artists and professionals in the arts and entertainment industries through arts education. During the summer of 2020, Nebraska 4-H is offering the Calibraska Arts Initiative Series as a part of the Virtual 4-H Camp offerings (https://4h.unl.edu/camps-centers/virtual-camps).
The Calibraska Arts Initiative is offering a variety of online summer classes in the arts taught by teaching artists and professionals in Los Angeles, California, and beyond. There are classes in Animation, Film, Drawing, Character Design, Stand-up/Improv Comedy, Acting, Hip Hop Dance, Puppet theater, History, Creature Creation, Music, and a LOT more! While the opportunities are primarily for youth, there are classes for adults, too.
Calibraska classes start June 15 and run through July 31, 2020. Registration closes the Wednesday before the start of each class so definitely have a look sooner than later if you can. There are scholarships in the form of 25%, 50%, and 100% available as well as class material kits available for anyone needing extra help or who may be interested in a series of classes. Check out all the great classes by visiting http://calibraska.org or https://4h.unl.edu/camps-centers/virtual-camps.
