On Saturday, August 29, during the 2020 Nebraska State Fair, the 4-H Presentations Contest [all Illustrated Presentations classes and Teaching (Trade Show Exhibit) Presentations] will take place in the Pinnacle Bank Expo Building and the Digital Video – 4-H FilmFest Contest will take place in the Raising Nebraska Building on the State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Entries for these contests will be accepted through August 10, 2020 (https://4h.unl.edu/state-fair/contest-participant).
Eligibility
In order to participate in the 2020 Nebraska State Fair 4-H Presentations Contests, 4-H youth must be 10 years old by January 1, 2020. All Presentations Contest classes require the in-person presence of the contestant(s); however, for this particular year, exhibitors in the Digital Video 4-H FilmFest Contest may participate in the contest in-person or by Zoom to deliver their 1-2 minute introduction of their film. - Division 151: Illustrated Presentations
A purple ribbon rating at a County 4-H Presentations Contest IS required for presentations in this division
[* if a County 4-H Presentations Contest was not held in 2020, the 4-H’er may be eligible for Division 152 Teaching (Trade Show Exhibit) Presentations Contest or Division 153: Digital Video 4-H FilmFest; the presentation will need to be revised to be shared in that particular contest format].
- Division 152: Teaching (Trade Show Exhibit) Presentations
County 4-H Presentations Contest participation IS NOT required for presentations in this division; however, the 4-H'er must have previously shared their presentation or film at an event that has a live audience (4-H Club Meeting, Community Event, County Contest, etc.
- Division 153: Digital Video – 4-H FilmFest
County 4-H Presentations Contest participation IS NOT required for presentations in this division; however, the 4-H'er must have previously shared their presentation or film at an event that has a live audience (4-H Club Meeting, Community Event, County Contest, etc. For this particular year, exhibitors in this contest may participate in-person or by Zoom to deliver their 1-2 minute introduction of their film.
Registration Processes
All participants must register online in Showorks; they will then receive an email from 4HOnline after August 10 providing them with additional details and an opportunity to select their exact presentation time. Processes for registration can be found in the State Fair Operations Handbook (http://4h.unl.edu/employeeresourcenebraskastatefair) on page 10-12.
