STEM CARES: Supporting Nebraska Communities Through School-age STEM Programs - Nebraska 4-H Youth Development has developed a new program, in collaboration with Beyond School Bells and funded by the CARES Act, to provide a minimum of six (6) hours of STEM programming to childcare programs serving school-age children in March/April of this spring. These hands-on STEM programs will be led by pairs of local high school students, designed and supported by University of Nebraska—Lincoln undergraduate students and state-level Nebraska Extension 4-H staff. We are actively looking for childcare programs or afterschool care programs serving rural youth in grades 3-5 who are interested in participating, as well as high school-aged youth interested in paid afterschool positions leading these programs. We will be offering additional programs this summer. Please contact Project Manager Ann O'Connor if interested or to find out more information: aoconnor2@unl.edu
