STEM CARES Fall 2021: Free STEM Program

Are you looking for high-quality STEM activities to engage upper elementary students this Fall? Nebraska 4-H Youth Development, in collaboration with Beyond School Bells and funded by the CARES Act, can provide a minimum of six (6) hours of STEM programming to childcare programs serving rural* school-age children in Grades 3-5**. STEM programs will be led by pairs of local high school students, designed and supported by University of Nebraska—Lincoln undergraduates and state-level Nebraska Extension 4-H staff.

This fall, we have three curriculum options:
The Power of the Wind
Garden Engineering
Mechanical Engineering (NEW!)

If you are interested in discussing the possibility of STEM CARES visiting local afterschool, childcare, or other out-of-school time programs, OR know of any high-school age youth interested in a paid position leading STEM programs in your county, please let us know by filling out this Google form: https://forms.gle/76CAoRWJSPWxdx5b7

Contact Project Lead Becky Swanson (rebecca.swanson@unl.edu) or Project Manager Ann O’Connor (aoconnor2@unl.edu) with questions.

*Any program outside of the Omaha or Lincoln metro areas qualifies.

**We have some flexibility on the grade levels. Please reach out to us to discuss!
