An update on the best way to keep your ShoWorks data safe this upcoming fair season! The District Technology Coordinators, myself, and Mike Hnatt from ShoWorks have been exploring some options we have to better keep our fair data safe.
It is our recommendation that if you are using Box Sync, please do so with the Sync feature turned off until you are needing to back up (end of the day, after updating many entries). When you get to this point, you can enable Sync again and it will backup the file without harming the data. Please remember to turn the Sync feature back off when you are wanting to update your entries again.
If you are using Box DRIVE, it will be best to enabled the folder to be accessible in an ‘offline’ state. In our testing, we have not found any issues with keeping the file continually updating in Box Drive as long as the ‘offline’ state is intact.
