Comm Studies Department social media!
This one-year unpaid internship will give one undergraduate student, guided by a faculty member, direct experience creating, scheduling, and monitoring social media content on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The goal of this position is to increase the department’s social media presence, promote department events and research, and give the student real world digital communication experience. Choose up to 3-hours of Communication Studies Internship credit (COMM 395) either fall 2021, or Spring 2022
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience posting on
Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
Ability to create a schedule for posts
Interest in communication, social media, and/or marketing
Ideal candidate will be a major or minor in Communication Studies
Excellent attention to detail and a motivation to learn
Responsibilities
Manage Department of Communication Studies' Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram
Create regular content schedules for each platform
Promote departmental events
Interact with other related accounts
Connect with UNL official accounts showcase Communication Studies at UNL
Integrate departmental messaging (i.e., advocate, negotiate, and relate and the main emphases areas of health and well-being, identity and difference, and civic engagement) into social media content.
Develop a portfolio of content/campaigns from your management of the department’s social media presence
