COMM392 - Special Topics in Race and Rhetoric
In this course, we will study the global development of race from a communicative perspective in order to critically understand the role of race in public life today. This class defines the concept of race, before then turning to an examination of how racial, colonial, and imperial institutions are built and maintained through different communicative practices. Finally, we will explore what role communication plays in undermining, redefining, or abolishing violent structures of racism to ultimately work toward building a more equitable world.
