Meet Communication Studies Minor, Brandi Clement! Brandi is a senior majoring in English, with a Communication Studies minor.
How did you find Communication Studies?
I’ve always been drawn to human communication and how it forms in various areas of our lives. So far throughout my studies, I have found it interesting to learn the basics of communicating in the 21st century to how families and small groups communicate.
What do you like most about the Communication Studies minor?
What I like most about it is that it can be applied within any career field I choose.
What is your favorite class?
COMM 370: Family Communication This class stands out to me, because we learn different forms of communication that families have. As well as how we can implement better communication within our family today and in the future.
What kinds of things are you involved with at UNL?
I’m involved within Reformed University Fellowship, a ministry on campus and we have done [a variety of] volunteer work. I’m also a Social Media Brand Ambassador for UNL and help curate social media content. However, my favorite experience is being Campus Host and showing my favorite aspects of Nebraska to those who are considering enrolling. I get to share my story with others in hopes it’ll help shape theirs.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on graduating in December of 2019. Upon graduating, I hope to find a job near the Lincoln area in the journalism field, so that I use my knowledge of communication and English.
