This brown bag, open discussion will be with Dewitt Latimer, consultant with TechWitt discussing his experiences deploying a Cellular infrastructure both while he was CTO at Notre Dame and at other Universities. if you know someone who might be interested in attending session, please feel free to invite them.
About the presenter:
Dewitt Latimer is a former Deputy CIO (Assistant Provost/Assistant VP) and Chief Technology Officer at the University of Notre Dame. In this capacity, he had operational oversight of the IT infrastructure and served as the University’s chief IT strategist.
Dr. Latimer has been a leader in higher education's national networking efforts and has played a key role in shaping higher education's position on national information technology policy issues. He serves on numerous national and EDUCAUSE committees, has served as a member of the SAC Board of Directors and past program chair, past fellow for the Educause Center for Applied Research (ECAR), and past co-Chair of the EDUCAUSE Net@EDU Wireless Working Group.
In his professional career than spans two decades, Dr. Latimer was previously Executive Director of Statewide IT Infrastructure for The University of Tennessee, Director of Academic Computing and Technology at Kent State University and Director of Information Technology, Clemson University College of Engineering and Sciences.
Latimer received a BS and MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in Education (with a concentration in Higher Education Administration) from The University of Tennessee.
