The University Health Center pharmacy is a valuable campus resource that supports students, faculty, and staff through flu season and beyond. If you or one of your students need prescriptions or over-the-counter medicine, take advantage of the on-campus pharmacy.
We offer a wide variety of services to help the Husker community stay well:
• Prescriptions – We fill prescriptions from University Health Center providers, as well as providers in the community and out of state. To transfer an existing prescription, call 402.472.7457, and be prepared to share the information on the prescription bottle label that indicates you have refills remaining. If you are prescribed a new medication, tell your provider to send the script to the health center pharmacy. When you pick up your prescriptions, our pharmacy team will take the time to help you fully understand the medicine, including any side effects. Worry-free automatic refills are available for certain prescriptions
• Contactless Options – Sign up for our mail order service, and we will ship the medication to your home for no additional fee. Shipping takes approximately three to four business days. Some restrictions apply
• Over-the-Counter Items – We offer hundreds of products, including cold and flu medicines, allergy medicines, vitamins, pregnancy tests and emergency contraception, first aid kit supplies, personal hygiene products and more. Most items are offered at a lower rate than what you’ll find at off-campus drug stores. If there is an item you need that we do not routinely stock, let us know and we will try to special order it for you
• New Mobile App and Texting Service – Download our new Nebraska Medicine Pharmacy app to request refills, check a prescription status, schedule refill reminders and more. Text “APP” to 54053 to download. Enroll in text messaging to get notifications when your prescription is ready for pickup, in the mail or ready for refill. Call 402.472.7457 to enroll
• Safe Medication Disposal Box – Don’t flush or throw away unwanted or unused medications. Protect the environment and prevent drug abuse and overdose by using our safe medication disposal box, located near the drop-off counter in the pharmacy. We accept prescription medications (both controlled and noncontrolled), over-the-counter medications, and liquids less than 4 ounces in a Ziploc bag
The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You do not need to schedule an appointment to visit; walk in whenever it’s convenient for you.
We accept most insurance plans as well as cash, check, NCard, Health Savings Account cards and major credit cards. Copay assistance options are available, and we offer free enrollment assistance.
