National First-Generation Celebration Week

The University of Nebraska is celebrating our First-Generation students during National First-Generation Week on campus, November 7-11. First Generation means neither of the students’ parents has graduated with a bachelor’s degree. 1 in 4 students at Nebraska identifies as being Frist Generation and this deserves some celebration. Being able to navigate campus, ask questions, and figure out what to do next can be intimidating and First-Generation students are often doing this by themselves. There is help and resources across campus to assist First-Generation students with their academic journeys. Join other First Gen students, faculty and staff throughout the week at a variety of events which aim to recognize and celebrate First Generation Students. If you have questions about specific events, please contact executivevcoffice@unl.edu
