The Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center is proud to announce the "Dream Lives On: A MLK Legacy Speech Competition." This event is designed to mark Black History Month, honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and inspire the next generation of leaders.
UNL students are invited to participate in this competition by delivering powerful speeches on a wide range of topics. The competition will provide a platform for students to express their voices, develop their public speaking skills, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue about important social issues.

• Topics: Social justice and equality, Environmental sustainability, Mental health awareness, Global citizenship, Personal growth and development, Cultural diversity and inclusion, Technological advancements and their impact on society, Intersectionality, Multiculturalism, Immigration, Language and culture, Indigenous peoples, Disability rights, LGBTQ+ issues, Inclusive Leadership and Innovation.
• Categories: Informative Speech / Persuasive Speech / Special Occasion Speech
• Time Limit: 5-7 minutes per speech
