The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is set to host its 5th Annual All Are Welcome Reception—an evening devoted to cultivating belonging, celebrating cultural connections and uniting campus and community voices.
Taking place on Saturday, August 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Red Cloud Suite of the Willa Cather Dining Center, this signature event marks the unofficial launch of the academic year, welcoming new and returning students, faculty, staff, and Lincoln community members alike.
This year’s reception is presented in partnership by Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Office of Graduate Studies, Fraternity & Sorority Life, the Wick Alumni Center and the Big Red Welcome Committee. In an environment infused with celebration and connection, the event offers a platform for attendees to build relationships, share experiences, and amplify the vibrant cultural heritage of UNL.
Light refreshments will be provided as guests mingle, reconnect, and expand their networks across disciplines and backgrounds. Organizers encourage past attendees to wear their BIPOC Unity Pins as a symbol of continuity and community.
“We envision this evening as more than a welcome—it’s a declaration,” said Kerra Russell, Senior Associate Director at Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center. “A declaration that every voice belongs here, and that our strength as a campus lies in the richness of our diverse stories.”
Whether you're a first-year student looking for community, a faculty member engaged in multicultural research, or a returning attendee proud to continue the legacy—this event is for you.
Registered Student Organizations are invited to host a table and showcase their work by filling out the interest form included in the RSVP link: https://forms.office.com/r/fd5sy4vwtG by August 13.
