January finds us kicking off a new semester. We will be welcoming new students into our campus community and current students will be ready to try new things. With that in mind, Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLICE) and Student Life are launching the first annual Big Red It’s Go Time!! Think of it as the January version of Big Red Welcome. The goal is to instill action and remind students of all the great things available to them to get involved, secure an internship, figure out how to study abroad, but it’s time to act, It's Go Time!!
Numerous departments and recognized student organizations (RSOs) host activities to jump start the semester, yet they can be hard to find. To make it easier, appropriate events between January 12-31 will be listed on the https://go.unl.edu/itsgotime calendar. SLICE will work to promote the calendar, but any help anyone can provide to get the word out is much appreciated.
Before any promotion happens though we need your help to populate the calendar. If you have an event or activity you would like included on the calendar, please follow the steps below.
1. Post your event on your department/college UNL events calendar. Then email Veronica at vriepe2@unl.edu and share the name, date, time of the event, the event link, and what calendar it’s posted on. Then we can pull the event onto the It’s Go Time calendar.
2. If you don’t have a department/college UNL calendar, then send the name, date, time, location, sponsor, description of the event and a photo to vriepe2@unl.edu and SLICE will create the event to appear on the It’s Go Time calendar.
We are trying to populate the calendar by December 19, so please send event information by that date. If you have activity information after December 19, please send it and SLICE will work to get it posted as soon as we can.
