The Explore Center and Education Abroad are leading a ten-day Pre-Health trip to Monteverde, Costa Rica in May, 2017. The purpose of the trip is to provide first-year pre-health students with an opportunity to engage in cultural exploration and to learn about health and healthcare in a setting outside of the US.
Program features include:
• Homestays with local families in Monteverde
• Spanish classes
• Tours of hospitals
• Lectures and activities related to tropical and mosquito-borne illnesses (e.g. Zika, etc.)
• Community engagement with children and the elderly
• Earn one credit hour for a UNL course
• Hiking and touring waterfall and volcano areas
Applications for the trip are due by January 23, 2017. Students can apply by logging into MyWorld at educationabroad.unl.edu .
