SAVE THE DATE: UCARE INFORMATION SESSION
Monday, December 2nd, 12:15-1:15pm, NE Union, City Campus The UCARE program allows students to work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to gain research experience and related skills. The program can enhance applications to graduate school and better prepare students for a career.
• Participants receive an annual stipend of $2,400. UCARE is open to students in all majors and disciplines.
• Upcoming application information sessions introduce students to the UCARE program and provide guidance on finding a project, approaching a prospective mentor, and writing an application proposal. The sessions are for funding in summer 2020 and the 2020-21 academic year.

CivicSpark Fellow Priority Application Open for 20-21 Service Year:
Are you passionate about tackling the biggest environmental and social equity challenges facing communities today while launching your social purpose career? If so, CivicSpark, a Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program, is right for you! CivicSpark is dedicated to building capacity for local governments to address community resilience issues such as climate, water, housing, and mobility. During the 2020-21 service year, 90 CivicSpark Fellows will support over 100 cities, schools, and other public agencies to implement local sustainability projects on topics including sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, climate action planning, water conservation, drought response, equity and affordable housing. Fellows gain exceptional career experience, training to become future leaders in California’s response to community resilience issues.
CivicSpark is looking for upcoming and recent college graduates who want to gain real-world experience, start their career in the sustainability and resilience fields, and make a lasting impact!
