New Field School Opportunity: Univeristy of Wyoming - Paleoindian Archaeology & Wyoming's First Peoples

The University of Wyoming is offering two summer field school opportunities:

Paleoindian Archaeology at Hell Gap Field Station, 6.7-7.27.
Goals: excavate early Paleoindian layers at the Hell Gap site (Goshen, Folsom, Agate Basin).
Learn: advanced field technique, electronic and digital data recording, analysis, workshops.
Participate in the research process: analysis research design, project execution, final report write-up and professional presentations.
Extracurricular activities: atl-atl throw, public education, public participation.

Wyoming's First Peoples: 6.15-7.22
Learn field methods that will prepare you for a career in archaeology as you work on three historic and prehistoric projects across the beautiful state of Wyoming. This year's field school will include a 13,000 year old Clovis mammoth kill and campsite near Douglas, a historic coal and mining town in Carbon County, and prehistoric hunting and historic homesteading associated with springs in the Laramie Valley.
- Session 1: Red Buttes, 6.15-5.24
- Session 2: La Prele Mammoth site, 6.29-7.8
- Session 3: Carbon City, 7.13-7.22
