Below are this week's advising updates:

While classes are shifted to exclusively on-line instruction, I remain available for advising meetings now and in the future, by appointment. I will not be holding in person appointments for the remainder of the semester, but in our appointment I look forward to helping you navigate a successful finish to Spring semester, plan next semester’s classes, and stay on track to earn your degree. We can meet in the following ways:

• Zoom (on-line video/audio or phone) – after you schedule your meeting, I will send you instructions for getting connected. You do not have to have a video and audio connection, but it would be ideal for the best communication including screen sharing. You can also call in using Zoom if you do not have access to a computer or device.
• E-mail – prior to our arranged appointment time, e-mail me your questions from your @huskers.edu account. I will respond to your initial questions, then we can exchange messages throughout our allotted time. If we run out of time, we can schedule a follow up. Continued emailing outside of your appointment time may have delayed response due to an increase in email traffic, but I will respond as quickly as possible.

Your appointment can be scheduled as usual in MyPLAN, or by emailing the Academic and Career Advising Center at casadvising@unl.edu. Please identify the format you would like to use for our meeting, and I’ll send you any necessary instructions or links to get us connected.

Changes to Academic Calendar Dates and Deadlines
• Priority Registration For Fall Term Moved to April 6 – Priority registration timeframes will begin a week late, for your updated timeframe, check MyRED and be sure to meet with your assigned advisor to plan for Fall courses.
• Withdrawal Deadline Extended to April 24 - The university has extended the deadline to withdraw from a course to April 24. This is to provide flexibility and time for students who find completing a course difficult in their new circumstances or who are struggling with the transition to remote instruction. If you are interested in withdrawing from a course, we strongly encourage you to consult with your academic advisor and a financial aid counselor before finalizing any decisions. Course withdrawal may adversely impact progress toward degree completion and impact financial aid status. If you withdraw from a course, you will not receive a refund.
• Pass/No Pass: significant changes were announced in regards to Pass/No Pass - all of which you can read here: https://covid19.unl.edu/undergraduate-pass-no-pass-qa. Students will have until May 29th to make the decision to change the grading status of any course. It is strongly encouraged that students wait until final grades are posted to take the necessary steps to change if they wish to do so. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

* Summer enrollment is still open, if you're considering summer classes schedule an appointment with me in MyPLAN. The University has decided that all summer classes will be online. With the shift to remote learning only for summer, if you were planning to take classes this summer, those classes may have changed or may be cancelled. Departments are making final decisions and adjustments this week, so please be sure to check your summer schedule at the end of the week to confirm what you are enrolled in. If you have any questions, reach out to me.
