SEEKING: undergraduate artwork exploring any interpretation of personal or collective identity for an exhibition in the Medici Gallery in Richard’s Hall to be on display March 9th-13th. This exhibition will serve as a platform to show work that discusses how identity shapes our lives.
ACCEPTED WORK: All materials, styles, and dimensions will be considered. The juror will consider work based on rawness and honesty of content above aesthetics. Successful work will harness sensitive topics to inspire difficult conversations among viewers. Submitted work must be ready to hang/display at time of submission. If an accepted piece requires special installation, the artist may be asked to be present at the time of installation (Sunday March 8th).
ABOUT THE JURROR/CURATOR: Sophia Ruppert is a graduate student studying sculpture at UNL. She created this exhibition to give undergraduate students a platform to use their voice to have a radical, uncensored discussion about experience and identity.
TO SUBMIT: For consideration, please submit up to three .jpeg or .pdf images and a brief (250 word) artist statement discussing how the submitted artwork demonstrates your thoughts or experiences concerning identity to sophiaruppertsculpture@gmail.com. Any questions about the submission process can be directed to Sophia Ruppert at the aforementioned email.
Submissions Due February 28th at 5pm.
