Consistent with Chancellor Green’s announcement on Wednesday, March 18 regarding additional steps that UNL will take to lead through the tremendous change brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, additional guidance regarding ongoing research and creative activities during this time is provided below.
As of now, effective 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 20, 2020 all UNL academic building exterior entry doors will be automatically locked and will require your N-Card to gain access. Even with N-Card access, the only hours you will be allowed into the building will be between 8am and 5pm.In addition, all undergraduate studios will be closed and unavailable to students. If you have supplies that you will need to work remotely, you will have until 8:00 a.m. Monday, March 23rd to retrieve them. If you are unable to do so, no supplies will be disposed of. You will be able to pick any left behind materials once the buildings re-open.
Also, if you are in need of any equipment from the digital lab or tools from the Art Fabrication space, you must stop in and pick it up tomorrow by 5pm. The both labs will be closed on Monday and anything that is checked out will be loaned out to those students until the buildings reopen. Please contact Drew Davis (drew.davis@unl.edu) or Joseph Holmes (jholmes15@unl.edu) if you would like to reserve something and pick it up tomorrow.
We apologize for this situation and the short notice. This has been a very difficult time full of many difficult decisions. Your patience and flexibility is deeply appreciated. While you may not have access to our facilities, we know that you will work creatively to continue to make your work.
