Contact improvisation is a form of movement which involves exploring one’s body in relationship to others by using the fundamentals of sharing weight, touch, movement awareness, spontaneity, improvisation, and mindful flexibility.
Researches in the UNL Dance program are looking for UNL student and staff volunteer study participants who are between the ages 19 and 40 and who live in Lincoln or Omaha. The purpose of the study is to understand how practices of contact improvisation impact sensations, perceptions, and interactions.
Participation will involve:
• Attending a total of five (5) 2-hour long workshops during Summer 2024 on the following days:
- Monday 7/29, 11 AM - 1 PM
- Wednesday 7/31, 11 AM - 1 PM
- Friday 8/2, 11 AM - 1 PM
- Monday 8/5, 11 AM - 1 PM
- Wednesday 8/7, 11 AM - 1 PM
and
• Completing individual written reflections
• Completing a 1-hour long individual interview
